UCI guarantees an offer of on-campus housing to all new incoming, full-time Ph.D. and MFA students who are admitted prior to the housing application deadline on May 2nd). On-campus housing provides students with a community environment while they pursue their studies. Housing offers are for one of six graduate housing communities and are completed during the summer months. Please check the Housing website for the deadline to apply.
Ph.D. students who accept this housing offer will be guaranteed placement in on-campus housing for one year less than normal time to degree (NTTD) for their academic program, and MFA students who accept this housing offer will be guaranteed placement in on-campus housing for normal time to degree (NTTD) for their academic program, up to three years. Normal time to degree for each academic program is approved by the Graduate Council. Students must maintain good academic standing to continue to qualify for the guarantee.
